Most EOR providers in Europe are platforms with local partners. We are a law firm-backed operation with 30 years of Spanish employment law practice and we handle the cases other providers decline. If compliant hiring in Europe actually matters to you, this is the difference.

What is an Employer of Record?

An employer of record is a company that employs workers on behalf of another business. The EOR handles the employment contract, payroll, tax registration, and statutory compliance while the client directs the day-to-day work. It is the legal route for hiring in a country where you have no registered entity and do not want to set one up.

Hire legally in Europe without setting up a local entity

Most global EOR platforms work well enough — until you hit a country where the compliance layer actually matters. European labour law is not uniform. CBAs, statutory severance, social security structures, work permit categories — these vary by country, and the gap between getting it right and getting it wrong is not small.

Our EOR is run by in-house lawyers and immigration specialists. Not account managers working from a compliance checklist. If you are already with a global EOR provider and something has broken down - a visa issue, a contract dispute, a compliance gap nobody flagged in time - we get those calls regularly. We know what went wrong and how to fix it.

Frequently asked questions

Is employer of record legal in Europe?

Yes. EOR is a recognised and widely used employment structure across Europe. The legal requirements differ by country - in Spain, for example, the law requires an ETT licence to legally supply workers to a third party. Most providers don’t hold one. We do. Full details on our Spain EOR page.

How much does an employer of record cost?

Our EOR service in Spain is priced at €299 per employee per month - flat rate, no setup fees for standard EU hires. Pricing for other countries depends on headcount and employment structure. We provide a full breakdown before any commitment. No obligation.

How quickly can I hire through an EOR?

For EU nationals in a standard employment structure, most clients are onboarded within a few business days of receiving the necessary documents. Non-EU hires or work permit cases take longer, timelines depend on the visa category and the employee’s nationality. We will give you a realistic estimate upfront, not an optimistic one.

What’s the difference between an EOR and a PEO?

A PEO (Professional Employer Organisation) co-employs workers alongside the client company, which requires the client to have a registered entity in the country. An EOR employs the worker directly, making it the sole legal employer. That distinction matters when you have no local entity and don’t want one.

Can an EOR handle non-EU work permits?

Yes. We have in-house immigration lawyers who handle non-Schengen visas, work permits, and complex documentation for non-EU nationals. This includes nationalities that other providers routinely decline to take on.

Does EOR work alongside the Beckham Law?

It can, but the interaction between EOR and the Beckham Law tax regime requires careful structuring. The full answer is on our Spain EOR page.

Most hiring problems in Europe are not complicated, they just need someone who actually knows the law.
